Best Live Microphones on a Tight Budget

Finding a live vocal microphone is no easy job while being on a budget and you still want to get the best quality money can buy so instead of you scouring the web we did the work for you and found five microphones around a hundred dollars that have been praised by many musicians around the world, and the best part, they are all available at

Sennheiser E835 Dynamic

With a 4.5 star rating and priced just under a hundred dollars this is probably the best money can buy. After all with 110 positive customer reviews and counting it’s really hard to go wrong with this one and we all know what Sennheiser stands for. Quality that is.

Although they aren’t very descriptive about this microphone they do present a powerful sound boost and the ambient boost and the feedback rejection features are top-notch. It received only one negative review which had nothing to do with the performance but the fact that it stopped working after a one-time use, each production line has some faults in it so with a 1-year warranty this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Shure SM58S Vocal

If there’s one brand that’s trying to break into the market it must be Shure as they are popping up all over the internet and this specific model is currently being sold a little over a hundred bucks. With a 4.8 star rating from 150+ customers, you are getting a pretty decent deal for your money.

The frequency response rate that ranges from 50 to 15000 Hertz is what you would expect from a microphone in this price range so nothing to complain about that either. They claim it’s suitable for use in a sound studio but personally, I require a wider frequency rate for that.

MXL Mics Dynamic

This is actually more of a studio mic and comes out at a bit of a higher price of $169 as we speak. The features it comes with are unparalleled and with only 16 left in stock, this might be the one for you if you run a studio from home.

The shock mount they built in is excellent to reduce noise and the tuned grill makes sure to get rid of internal reflections. Furthermore, it says that it produces a bright sound and excellent performance in a rather noisy room.

That Sums it All Up

If this list of vocal microphones is a little short I suggest you visit: instead as they are reviewing at least a dozen more models so I’m sure you can find something of your liking. Once you found your mic of choice please leave a comment below to share your experience!
